Coach Luís Tralhão renewed his contract with Torreense for two more seasons, the team he led to winning the Portuguese Cup, the League 2 club announced this Tuesday.
The 47-year-old coach arrived in Torres Vedras in 2024 to take over the club's under-23 team, having won the Liga Revelação in his debut season, months before taking on the role of coach of the main team, in January 2026.
The journey would prove to be historic, with Torreense lifting the Portuguese Cup for the first time, a historic feat achieved on May 24, when they beat favorites Sporting, 2-1, after extra time, in the final of the 86th edition of the premier competition.
With the aforementioned achievement, to which he was unable to add the club's return to the first division – Torreense fell into the play-off against Casa Pia –, the Oeste team also guaranteed direct entry into the league stage of the Europa League, a competition in which they will make their debut.
However, and even before the first international duel, Torreense will compete in the Supertaça Cândido de Oliveira, in which they will face national champion FC Porto, in a game scheduled for August 1st, at 8:15 pm, at the Estádio Municipal Cidade de Coimbra.
The debut in League 2 is scheduled for August 9th, at 11:00, at Farense, in the first round match.
