Marítimo hires right-back Tomás Tavares, who represented Wisla Plock in Poland, valid for three seasons.
The 25-year-old footballer, international for Portugal's youth teams, arrives in Madeira after having played in 14 games in the Polish championship.
Trained at Benfica, Tavares has spent time at Farense, AVS, Alavés, in Spain, Basel, in Switzerland, LASK Linz, in Austria, and Spartak Moscow, in Russia.
