Richarlison permanece no TottenhamRicharlison permanece no Tottenham

Richarlison, Tottenham forward, posted a video on social media to talk about almost signing for Vasco, the club he loves.

Vasco tried to close the deal by this Friday, the deadline for the Brazilian football transfer window. The club's intention was to agree a three and a half year contract, with the player preferring an agreement until the end of the year, believing that he still has a market in European football.

“I would like to thank Vasco fans, Pedrinho and Felipe. I was very close to signing with Vasco. It's my favorite team, my whole family's team. Other clubs and proposals appeared, I made it clear that Vasco's priority was. It was close", lamented the player, whose future remains undefined.

Richarlison, with a contract until June 2027, is not in the Spurs' plans, having been left off the Premier League registration list. The player, until further notice, trains with the under-21 squad. After frustrated transactions for Everton, his former club, and Trabzonspor, from Turkey, Mohamed Salah's club, the Brazilian market opened its eyes to the opportunity to sign the player.

Vasco and Atlético-MG appeared as interested in the Pigeon, who did not hide his desire to wear Vasco's shirt. After the Rio team received information about the impossibility of signing the player on loan, due to the limit reached by Tottenham, of athletes transferred to clubs from other federations, two paths emerged.

The first was the termination of the contract, a situation that was unsuccessful for the player and his staff. The second was the English club accepting a proposal from Vasco, with the English asking for 20 million euros to release the striker.

Cruz-Maltino even offered 15 million euros, with Tottenham putting its foot down, without releasing Richarlison, who reinforced that he was only interested in playing for Vasco until the end of the year. "It was close, I had made it very clear from the beginning that I would like to defend Vasco until December. I believe that I will soon be in São Januário", he declared.

“One day I will realize this dream, which is mine, my grandfather's, my family's. I'm speaking from the heart to you. I really wanted to be at Vasco", he reinforced.
