Tom McCullough will join Red Bull from Aston Martin next season and will take on the role of head of competition, the Formula 1 team announced this Tuesday. McCullough was performance director at Aston Martin, where former Red Bull designer Adrian Newey is primarily responsible, and will replace Max Verstappen's track engineer Gianpiero Lambiase, the current head of competition who will move to McLaren by 2028 at the latest. "We are delighted to welcome Tom to the team in early 2027 and look forward to all the experience and knowledge he will bring to the role", said Red Bull. Lambiase's move was announced in April. McLaren has already confirmed that the 45-year-old Briton will play a supporting role to team principal Andrea Stella.
