Farense requested the postponement of the League 2 game against Chaves, scheduled for Sunday, due to a viral outbreak affecting the squad, a SAD source from the Algarve told Lusa this Thursday. This request, which began to be processed on Wednesday, has already been submitted to the Portuguese Professional Football League and should have a final decision later today. The training session scheduled for this morning was cancelled, with several players already suffering from fever, diarrhea and vomiting. The viral situation began last week, before the game against Sporting B for the fourth round of Liga 2, which the Algarve lost by 2-1. André Candeias, Farense's winger, was left out of that match and the symptoms spread to several athletes who are undergoing medical monitoring. According to a source from Farense's SAD, the squad "does not meet" the conditions to play in the game, scheduled for the São Luís Stadium, in Faro, at 2:00 pm. Farense, coached by José Faria, occupies fifth place in League 2, with seven points, having recorded two wins, one draw and one defeat.
