In the transfer window that recently ended, investment was around 25 million euros worldwide, more than double that recorded in 2025, FIFA announced this Thursday (3). "In total, 1,406 international transfers were registered in women's professional football, an unprecedented number that represents an increase of 19.2% compared to the previous record", detailed FIFA, based on data from the International Transfer Snapshot report, published this Thursday. With more than 25 million euros, investment in transfers represents "more than double the value recorded in 2025 in the same period", added the organization. A value, even so, very far from that recorded in men's football, which approached 10 billion euros this European summer, according to the FIFA study. The Premier League alone generated around 4 billion euros. This huge difference is explained, above all, by the relatively recent emergence of a true transfer market in women's football, whose economic dimension remains well below that seen in men's football. The last window was also marked by several signings of stars of the sport, such as Alexia Putellas, who left Barcelona for the London City Lionesses at the beginning of July. Now Kerolin became the most expensive Brazilian footballer in history, when she left Manchester City for Barcelona, in a transfer valued at 1.2 million euros. The 100% women's club, owned by Michele Kang, also secured the signing of French international forward Kadidiatou Diani.
