The meeting between Levante and Athletic Bilbao, from the 6th round of LaLiga, was postponed this Wednesday due to the adverse weather conditions that hit Valencia. The match was scheduled for 9:30 p.m., in Ciutat de València, but the heavy rain that fell over the city left the pitch completely flooded and unable to hold the meeting. The two teams warmed up, but the intensity of the precipitation increased significantly in the minutes before kick-off. Water accumulated on the playing field and made it practically impossible for the ball to move. After checks carried out by LaLiga and the refereeing team, the decision was made to suspend the meeting due to lack of safety conditions and the impossibility of using the lawn. Images of the stadium showed an impressive scene, with a large part of the field transformed into a real swimming pool and access areas to the pitch also flooded. The new date and time of Levante-Athletic Bilbao have not yet been announced. According to Athletic, LaLiga should communicate the new schedule after the two clubs reach an agreement. Athletic will return to Bilbao and will continue, for now, the match against Deportivo Alaves, scheduled for Saturday in San Mamés.
