Hollywood star Hugh Jackman claims he is in talks to acquire a stake in Norwich – and could soon face the equally famous Ryan Reynolds in the second tier of English football. The Australian actor, whose mother is originally from the city, is close friends with Wrexham co-owner Reynolds and told talkSPORT who could soon be rivals in the Championship. "I'm very, very interested – and talking about it right now," said Jackman when asked if he could get involved in English football: "Go ahead, Ryan, make your way, I'm all for the Canaries." In 2023, Jackman accepted an invitation to watch a Wrexham game alongside his Deadpool and Wolverine co-star, Reynolds, who is co-owner of the Welsh club along with fellow actor Rob McElhenney. Under his management, Wrexham have risen from the National League to the Championship with three consecutive promotions since the 2022/23 season. Jackman believes both Norwich and Wrexham will gain promotion to the Premier League this season, despite both teams having won just one of their four games so far. "I've been to Carrow Road a few times, I love the Canaries, and this is the year we're going to move up. That's my prediction," Jackman stated: “My prediction is that Norwich and Wrexham will get promoted this year.” Sydney native Jackman, 57, previously revealed he was offered the opportunity to invest in Norwich in 2010, but turned it down.
