Minnesota United announced the departure of James Rodríguez, putting an end to the Colombian international's short spell in MLS. The future of the midfielder is now once again shrouded in uncertainty.
The former Real Madrid attacking midfielder only arrived at United in February and participated in just six games in the North American League (MLS), two of them as a starter.
James's disappointing spell in Minnesota, without continuity due to a lack of rhythm and subsequent physical problems, ended with no goals scored and two assists distributed.
His contract with Minnesota United was only valid for four months, until the World Cup, in which Colombia was eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland, after a penalty shootout. The club had the option of extending the Colombian's contract until the end of this season, which ends in December, but decided not to exercise that possibility.
