Atlético-MG agreed to sign midfielder Kevin Castaño, from River Plate. The 25-year-old Colombian arrives at Galo on a one-year loan, with an option to purchase conditional on meeting goals. Information on the outcome of the negotiation was released this Thursday by journalist César Luis Merlo. Talks between the clubs had been dragging on in recent days. The Atlético were looking for a loan with an option to buy, while the River Plate tried to include an obligation to buy at the end of the contract. The agreement was closed in the manner desired by the Minas Gerais club. Originally a defensive midfielder, Castaño was trained at Rionegro Águilas, in Colombia. The player also played for Cruz Azul, from Mexico, and Krasnodar, from Russia, before arriving at River in 2025. For the Argentine club, he played 45 matches and made two assists.
