The young Portuguese-Angolan striker João Gastão will reinforce Farense's offensive sector during the 2026/27 season, on loan from Estrela da Amadora, the Liga 2 emblem reported on Monday. “João Gastão is already a lion from Faro. The young 19-year-old winger arrives on loan from Estrela da Amadora to reinforce the attack”, informed the Algarve club on social media. The forward arrived at Estrela da Amadora in 2024/25, coming from Angolan side Kabuscorp, and played nine games for the tricolors last season, before being loaned to Belenenses, from Liga 3, in which they faced Farense in the play-off for access to Liga 2, which the Lisbon team lost. “I'm happy because, besides being a new challenge, it's a great team, a great club, a great name. I face this with a great desire to win”, said the footballer, in statements released by Farense. The striker is the Algarve's ninth signing, after goalkeeper Fabijan Buntic, defenders Gonçalo Silva and Zolotic, midfielders Mattheus Oliveira, Sarpreet Singh and Joseph Nduquidi, and forwards João Resende and Gabriel Barbosa. Farense makes its debut in League 2 with the reception to Torreense, holder of the Portuguese Cup, on August 9th.
