The LPGA will launch the Nanea Cup, a $4 million (€3.5 million) event that will feature circuit professionals and the best female college players, in March next year in Hawaii, the circuit announced this Tuesday.
The tournament at Nanea Golf Club, March 11-14, 2027, will feature 95 LPGA players and 25 top college girls, at a venue where Stanford women's golf team coach Anne Walker hosts an annual women's college tournament.
"Our enthusiasm for adding the Nanea Cup to the LPGA calendar in 2027 is enormous," stated LPGA Commissioner Craig Kessler:"Hawaii is a natural stop on the way back from Asia and before heading to the West Coast of the USA. Nanea is a spectacular place."
This year, the LPGA held events in Thailand, Singapore and China in February and March, before resuming events in California and Arizona.
Nanea's squad will be reduced to 50 players and tied after two rounds, while the university students will also compete on Saturday to determine the champion team.
